Neben seinem Studium am Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium in M\u00fcnchen und an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Basel besuchte der 1976 in M\u00fcnchen geborene Musiker in Basel auch das Ali Akbar College. Dort tauchte er, tief beeindruckt von indischer Musik, in das Fluidum der Ragas. Als Musiker und K\u00fcnstler beginnt Elin nun in Augsburg Fu\u00df zu fassen: Er unterrichtet als Dozent f\u00fcr Saxophon am Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum, als Interpret ist er ebenso begehrt, wie seine zahlreichen Konzertauftritte mit renommierten Orchestern und Ensembles im In- und Ausland belegen. Der Schritt vom Interpreten zum Komponisten ergab sich f\u00fcr Elin vor zwei Jahren. Die Fl\u00f6ten-Partita in a-Moll setzte eine Initialz\u00fcndung frei. Er wollte die Raumtiefe Bachs latenter Mehrstimmigkeit auf das Saxophon \u00fcbertragen.<br>Das Sch\u00f6pferische, sagt Elin, geht aber nicht gezielt aus dem blo\u00dfen Spiel des Instruments hervor. Der kreative Weg tr\u00e4gt n\u00e4mlich Z\u00fcge des Improvisatorischen und speist sich aus der Intuition, neue Klangwelten schaffen zu wollen.<br>Elins Kompositionen, erf\u00fcllt von der kontemplativen Substanz der Ragas, bauen auf rotierenden Klangelementen auf, die \u00fcber die Wiederholung an Eindringlichkeit gewinnen. Die Kreise beginnen sich zu weiten, Energie w\u00e4chst ihnen zu, der Zeitfaktor l\u00f6st sich auf: Musik ohne Anfang und Ende.
