The "little church" (La Chiesetta), which gave the piece its name, is located in a tiny little italian village above Lake Garda, where I often compose in summer. The acoustics of the little church are ideal for giving inspiration there on mild summer evenings when working. Unless you disturb your neighbours and suddenly the latch of the church door is closed and you find yourself locked inside the church. This drama also shapes the composition.
